After two years in Vancouver, I finally found the time and courage to go snowboarding in Whistler. For thoose of you who never heard about it, Whistler is the best place to go skiing in British Columbia, and it's also the next host of the 2010 winter olympics. So no need to say it's a tiny little hill...
In the french version of this post, I compare Whistler to "l'Alpe D'Huez", a very famous ski resort in the French Alpes, but this might not be so relevant in english... so I'm not really sure what to compare it to ! The only thing I can say is that it was a gorgeous day, tracks are really fun and long, the crowd was very friendly and polite (especially compared to the european crowd!), and if it wasn't for the two very painfull days of hard core aches I had to go through after, it would have been the perfect week end !
I might not be around when the olympics come to Vancouver, and if not, I'm sure that I'll watch the competition with a little touch of nostalgia about Whistler. Thanks Francis, Taylor, Steve for sharing this great day !
