To compare the capabilities of browsers, I screenshoted the results of all major browsers with the Acid 3 test on windows XP.
The biggest surprise is not so much that IE6 fails the test with a terrible 11/100, but it's that even IE 5.5 does better than IE 6 (13/100). You'll also notice that IE7 does NOT appear like an improvment at all.
Congrats to the Safari team, who scores a perfect 100/100 and perfect rendering, smooth animation. Safari 4 is the winner, followed by Chrome with some small rendering problems, Opera, and then Firefox with a descent 71/100.
So it's not so much about users converting to safari or chrome... but really, it's about them not using the terribles IE browsers ! Pleeeaaase !
